Customer complaint of a large puddle of fluid under unit |
Lift hose was routed in a way that caused it to rub on drive tire eventually wearing hole in hose and causing leak |
Traveled to location. Found truck. Verified leak. Hoses were routed in such a way that it rubbed the drive tires over time. Hoses and fittings were all tight. This is a factory routing issue. Took pictures and removed hose from truck. Went to Parker to get hose. Installed new hose on truck and double checked line routing. Verified there were no rubbing spots and tied rubber guard to section of hose where it rubbed against another hose. Moved truck to clean oil up. Found brakes had got soaked in hydraulic fluid when the hose started leaking. Adjusted brakes and used brake cleaner to clean out brake drums and shoes. Blew out excess with compressed air. Drove truck and checked brake function. Brakes work however right front wheel will not lock up when left brake does (this was the side the fluid leaked in). Brakes also make loud noise. Talked to customer. Had another driver run truck and check brakes with coil on forks (about 20,000lbs). Driver is comfortable driving lift. Returned to service. |
